I’m the unluckiest person in the world.
Think getting a parking ticket while your car is being towed.
Or winning hockey tickets… only to end up in the hospital with no memories because a two hundred pound hockey player crashed into the plexiglass—and straight into you.
Yeah. That happened.
Next thing I know, I’m being taken in by said hockey player, Caleb—the same guy responsible for my current memory wipe. And as it turns out, he might also be the kindest man on earth.
He introduces me to his friends, shares his hobbies with me, and even cooks for me. (Okay, that may or may not be due to a kitchen incident I allegedly caused.)
And as I settle into this new life—this new me—I start to feel something I never expected: like I belong. Suddenly, I’m more interested in making new memories than remembering my old ones.
And maybe, just maybe… losing them was the luckiest thing that ever happened to me.
